The office is at 332 Moo 3 in Bang Pu Mai, about 1.6 km inland from Sukhumvit Road in the Bang Pu area of Samut Prakan. BY BTS + GRAB: Take the Sukhumvit Line to Kheha, its southern terminus, then a Grab south-east along Sukhumvit Road towards Bang Pu; ask for 'สำนักงานขนส่งจังหวัดสมุทรปราการ'. BY CAR FROM BANGKOK: Follow Sukhumvit Road (Highway 3) south-east through Samut Prakan town towards Bang Pu. Turn off Sukhumvit near Wat Tamru school (Mittraphap 65), continue past the traffic light for roughly 1.6 km and turn left to the office. From Bang Na allow 40-60 minutes in traffic. FROM BANG PHLI / SUVARNABHUMI: Head south via Thepharak or Bang Na-Trat and Sukhumvit; 30-45 minutes. BY GRAB/TAXI: Search 'DLT Samut Prakan' or the Thai name above; tell a taxi driver 'Kor Sor Lor Samut Prakan' (ขนส่ง สมุทรปราการ).

Samut Prakan is its own province, so this — not a Bangkok area office — is the registration office for vehicles kept in Bang Phli, Bang Sao Thong, Bang Bo, Phra Pradaeng and Mueang Samut Prakan. Many people who say they live in 'Bangna' or 'Bearing' are actually across the provincial line.
For a driving licence you can use any office, so residents on the Sukhumvit extension have a choice between here and Bangkok Area 3 at Bang Chak. Compare travel time rather than assuming Bangkok is easier.
There is a second, smaller office for the western side of the province: the Phra Pradaeng branch at 945 Moo 10, Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kot, Phra Samut Chedi 10290 (02-464-1710, Mon-Fri 7:30-16:30 per its listing).
The office is about 1.6 km off Sukhumvit Road — the listing's directions turn off Sukhumvit near Wat Tamru school (Mittraphap 65), pass a traffic light and turn left after roughly 1.6 km.
BTS Kheha, the southern end of the Sukhumvit Line, is the nearest station. From there a Grab along Sukhumvit Road towards Bang Pu finishes the trip.
Book through DLT Smart Queue where possible; provincial offices around Bangkok are busy on Monday mornings and the day after a public holiday.
Get your medical certificate at a clinic beforehand and bring copies of your passport, visa page and entry stamp.
