DLT Pattaya Office (Chonburi Branch, Bang Lamung)

Serves the entire Pattaya, Jomtien, Na Jomtien, Bang Saray, and greater Bang Lamung area — one of the busiest provincial DLT offices for foreign applicants.

Arrive by 7:30 AM during peak season (November-March) to secure an early queue number. Off-season (May-September) is noticeably quieter and you can often arrive at 8:30 AM without issue.

The English-language written test (50 questions, multiple choice) is consistently available here. Japanese and Chinese tests are also offered.

English-speaking staff are common at this office due to the high volume of foreign applicants — communication is generally easier than at smaller provincial offices.

Dress code is loosely enforced but avoid sleeveless shirts, very short shorts, or flip-flops to be safe.

Bring your own pen, water bottle, and a book or phone charger — the full process (document check, color-blindness/reaction test, video viewing, written test) can take 3-5 hours.

Parking is available on-site with roughly 50-60 spaces. During busy mornings the lot fills up by 8:30 AM — consider arriving by Grab or baht bus if possible.

There is a small canteen and drink vendors inside the DLT compound. A 7-Eleven is located approximately 200 meters south on Sukhumvit Road.

If you are converting a foreign license, the process is typically faster (1-3 hours) since you skip the full written test and only take the reaction/color tests.

The practical driving test course is on-site behind the main building. It includes a slope start, parallel parking, S-curve, and U-turn.

This office is separate from the Chonburi Main DLT Office in Sri Racha. If you need provincial-level vehicle registration services, the Sri Racha office may be required.

Processing is typically less crowded than Bangkok DLT offices, but Pattaya still sees high foreigner volume — do not assume it will be empty.
