Can I ride a scooter in Thailand with just a car license?

No. In Thailand, a car license only covers four-wheeled vehicles. To legally ride any motorcycle or scooter — even a small 125cc automatic scooter — you need a separate motorcycle license. Riding without one can result in fines and void your insurance.

What is the practical motorcycle test like?

The DLT motorcycle test is conducted on a closed course at the DLT office. You need to ride through a series of obstacles including a figure-eight, narrow plank, and braking zone. We provide detailed instructions and tips for each section.

Can I convert my foreign motorcycle license?

Yes, if you hold a valid motorcycle license from your home country, you can convert it to a Thai motorcycle license. The process is similar to car license conversion — you skip the practical test and only take aptitude and written tests.
