Tips for This Office
The office is in Khlong Suan Phlu, east of the historic island, a few hundred metres off the Highway 32 frontage road by Central Ayutthaya. The mall is the landmark to aim for.
The listing gives an 8:45 opening, not the usual 8:30. Arriving at 8:00 just means a longer wait outside.
The province has one district branch, at Maha Rat (99 Moo 2, Rong Chang), in the north of the province. We couldn't confirm its phone number, so ring the provincial office to check what the branch handles.
Any DLT office can issue your licence. If you live in the south of the province towards Bangkok, compare the trip with the Pathum Thani offices.
Book through DLT Smart Queue before you go if you can.
Get your medical certificate at a clinic or hospital beforehand, and bring two copies of every document plus your passport, visa page and entry stamp.
Dress modestly: no sleeveless tops, very short shorts or flip-flops.
Residence Certificate for This Office
A licence application needs proof of your Thai address, usually a residence certificate from Immigration. Ayutthaya Immigration is listed at 134 U-Thong Road, Ho Rattanachai, on the old city island (035-328-411, per the Thai embassy's office list updated April 2024). Phone before you go. Fees run 200-500 THB depending on the office.
